ISOHAPPY!

I got a 94% on that Vietnam paper! I am so excited!!!

time crunch

Yes, it is that time of year. College finals. Ugh. I have turned in my Vietnam War paper(hoping I did well on that, not so sure!), my assignment essay synopsis, and my extra credit paper. The only thing left for PSEOP online history is the dreaded final. If I dont get an A on this one, I get a B in the course probably, from my probably not good calculations;-)
I find myself with no time to watch TV anymore, the only thing I get to watch is my soap opera each weekday, but only if I DVR it so I can fast-forward thru commercials. I aslo eat and study while getting some sort of TV time in, like when my sister wants me to watch a movie with her. I eat my meals while watching videos on the computer for history, and instead of reading before bed I study. I have only read 4 books this quarter of school.
My only friend-time is Lifeteen each Sunday. I rarely get to talk on the phone with my friends anymore, because they are busy and so am I. I havent talked to Bella, my BFF, on the phone since Sunday night after Lifeteen for 7 minutes. I havent talked to Rachel, my other BFF, for a week and havent seen her in a while either, as she is not Catholic and does not attend my youth group.
The only thing I getto do regularly that I want to is email, simply becuase I am almost always on here typing up a paper and when the email notifier pops up, I can go look(the email is always minimized at the bottom of my screen!)and reply.
If only God gave us 25 hours in the day!!!

XOXO

Prayers of Thanksgiving

1. My friend Scott was driving yesterday on icy roads in Michigan, taking a friend to work. He was hit and spun around by four cars, and after that happened, a SUV came over the hill going way too fast and came very close to plowing into the drivers side of the car. Neither him or the girl in the car with him were hurt! Scott is really awesome, I do miss him I have not seen him in almost a year now, though he may come in a few weeks, but he may not because he would like to drive himself and his car was totalled. He is 20 and like an older brother to me. He gave me my first....and only motorcycle ride! Yes, we went fast, yes, it was fun, and yes I was holding on to him for dear life!!!

2. My dog, Wilbur ran away yesterday morning, but luckily our very nice neighbor came outside in her pajamas and got him into her yard, where we were able to get him and bring him home safely!!!

body of christ

so like you know at Mass when the priest or Eucharistic distributor says "body of Christ" or "Blood of Christ" and then you say amen? has it become robotic for you like it has for me? when we say amen(i believe) we are saying we believe that is the body and soul of our lord jesus. so maybe this advent we can try to not act like robots during church(sit stand sit stand sit stand kneel stand kneel sit......etc etc)and especially during communion.

today is lifeteen skit day!

the whole 9 yards, anything and everything

as i am typing this, my brothers guinea pig, puffy, is on my lap squealing. today we saw the christmas light show at skate world, with the lights coreographed to music on a local station, mostly trans siberian orchestra. my vietnam paper is now on the fifth page, and since i only need 4-5 pages, i am done excpet for finish-ups and a good closing sentence. i am geting nervous we wont have enough people for the lifeteen skit. but the youth leader is calling more people today and he may do a part as well. so we will have enough people i suppose. once again, happy st nicks day!!!

i <3 this movie

the guardian! i had seen it before but watched the like last hour of it again last night, i was SOBBING! notnear as bad as my mom the time she watched it, but still! it is SO SAD! you must watch this movie! also

HAPPY ST NICKS DAY! i got a super cool flower punch(the really nice ones!) and a nice Old World cow ornament(i collect cows)!!!!!

my sister in addition to other things got Barbie the Christmas Carol CD and there is a song called Barbie 12 Days of Christmas.....i tried to find the lyrics to copy and paste......it is shameless advertising!!!!! it is hilarious!!!

briomag.com Christmas....LOL funny!

I know it’s Christmas, but chill, OK? Last year you got up at 2 a.m. to shop, ate that 3-foot candy cane, dressed like an elf for a week. And remember the eggnog cannon? Seriously, chill. —Your Brain

Are you listening to your brain? Christmas makes us crazy. People wear antlers and eat globs of mysterious cheese. They climb houses to hang lights. Even giving or receiving gifts makes people do strange things.

Buying Gifts
Christmas shopping changes people. Penny pinchers become walking wallets, spending money faster than your Uncle Earl can eat a Christmas ham. (If I forfeit my first two years of college, I can buy this theme-park rollercoaster!) And mild-mannered people panic in mall crowds. Stunned, they buy the first thing they see. (These inflatable hats look nice. I’ll buy 37—everybody gets one.)

Others spend months trying to find the perfect gift, driven by the goal of making every recipient cry.

Then there’s my brother. On Christmas Eve, he races through stores during the “we are closing” announcement. With no time to make buying decisions and a cart moving at 80 mph, results can be sketchy.

Me: Wow. Grandma got hunting gear.

Mom: I got this musical called Guinea Pig Rock!

Sally: I got a steering wheel for a van.

Buying gifts can also turn people into what I call “transformers.” If you ask for something, that item is transformed into something completely different.

Ask for iPod. Get lamp that dispenses peanuts.

Ask for winter coat. Get flashing Viking sword.

Ask for perfume. Get tub of rare fish.

My wife, Sally, has transformers in her family. One year she asked for a turtleneck and got a decorative urn. Her 24-year-old brother got a “Blue’s Clues” pillow.

Giving Gifts
Even giving gifts leads to bizarre behavior—especially in relationships.

A. Overexcitement: Girl gives gift . . . stares . . . studies reaction. Her eyes bulge; her mouth opens; she can’t wait!

B. Gift Inferiority Complex: Where every package comes with a rambling apology.

Mike (giving gift to girlfriend): It’s not much. I mean, I hope you like it. I, uh, wanted to get you more, but I . . . You can return it. See, I tried to sell my car . . . they sold out and then I was sick . . . (45 minutes later) . . . the donkey at the living nativity scene ate my pants.

Opening Gifts
If you really want to see Christmas craziness, watch families open gifts. In some homes, living rooms become mosh pits, and everything is torn apart in 12 seconds. My family takes forever. By the time we’re done, we can hear Fourth of July fireworks. One year I grew a beard—and I was only 6.

Gift opening can also cause individuals to act strange. They become:

The Guesser: I bet it’s a new phone! Or unicorn shoes! Oh, wait! It’s . . . ”

The Shaker: A Guesser who can’t hold anything still.

The Shredder: Peels wrapping paper off in hundreds of small, annoying strips. Why? Nobody knows.

The Saver: Opens gifts with surgical precision. Bows are saved. Paper is folded and treated like an endangered species. If your mom is a saver, you may have ribbons that cavemen used.

Christmas may make us crazy, but I don’t listen to my brain. Really, there’s nothing crazy about giving to others, celebrating family and commemorating the birth of the King of kings. That said, I’d still ditch the elf costume this year.

"On August 12, 1898, Spain signed an armistice and later in the year ceded its claim to the remnants of its empire, including cuba and puerto rico in the carribbean and the island of guam in the pacific. the united states forced cuba to incorperate into its constitution (written in 1901) the platt amendment, which guareanteed continuing US influence over the country, including the stationing og american troopis at the naval station on guantanamo bay."
